The Cocoon Coat was created in 2017, when The Ladymaker was commissioned by an international textile company to create a series of looks for an edit for Northern Nigerian women. Inspired by the elegance and timelessness of their style, the Cocoon Coat was born as an outerwear staple with a signature ‘Cocoon’ silhouette. The Cocoon Coat has been our bestselling design ever since, and is now rendered in a variety of textiles to complement the multifaceted nature of women’s lives.
The artisanal update to the Cocoon Coat, the Cocoa Cocoon is a patchwork coat comprised of [.] pieces of fabric artfully placed to create a new print story, featuring hand embellished sections contrasted with lace overlay blocks.
A study of form and shape, the Classic Cocoon is a modern architectural silhouette juxtaposed with hand dyed prints for an effortless expression of individuality and distinct ladyhood.
